A Visit to a Flutemaker

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the making of a Native American flute by KODOAN.com. This photo shows the step where the mouthpiece is expertly turned on a lathe. It was like watching a sculptor at work. Beautiful & Fascinating! Here he is putting the finishing touches on a mouthpiece by using sandpaper to make it smooth.
